Blog post inspiration

Stuck on what to write for your next blog post? Don't worry – it happens to the best of us (as we at Mission Imblogable would know, naturally). Fortunately, we've got a handy list we turn to whenever we find ourselves Googling 'celebrities without make-up' instead of cracking on with blogging. And we're going to share it with you, because we're nice:

Seasons
We loves some seasonal blogging, here at Mission Imblogable. And it's great, because there's four of 'em, so by the time you start to run low on inspiration again, the next season's rolled around. It should be pretty easy to relate the seasons to your blog, no matter what your niche. Take spring – can you link spring cleaning to what you write about somehow? We did when we wrote about spring cleaning your social media accounts.

Trends
What are other people writing about in your niche? Do you have any extra insights to add? Or a controversial opinion on the topic? Controversy is GREAT, people love that stuff – or hate it. Which is a good thing. (Honest.) The last thing you want is for someone to feel indifferent about what you've written. So if you see someone in your industry's written something you don't agree with, fire away with a retort. Keep it civil, of course, but put your opinion out there.

The News
Another fab way to keep on top of trends is to check the news. Has anything happened that's relevant to your industry or niche? Talk about it. Again, give your opinion, and tell your readers how this news could affect them.

Interviews
Interviews are a fantastic way to draw in a new crowd. If you interview a big name in your industry, people will want to read it. And the person you interviewed – who could have a large audience – will almost certainly share the blog post with their audience, sending a bucketload of new readers your way. Case in point: here we are sharing a link to this interview with Art Division's very own Nelly Berova. 

Reviews
It doesn't matter if you're reviewing a book, a movie, an app, or something else – anything relevant to your niche is fair game. Give an overview of the subject in question, then give your take on it. Was it excellent, terrible, dull as dishwater? Would your readers find it helpful? Or can you point them towards a better resource?

Lists
People go crazy for list posts, and that's a real live fact. Can you squeeze a Top 10 list into your blog? How about a list of the best resources for someone in your industry? Best tools to help with a certain job? List posts are easy to glance over and pick the relevant parts out, which is why they're so popular. On the internet, quick and easy = popular. Here's a list post from our favourite property blog.

New client work: website for Best Gapp


We’re delighted to announce that we’ve launched a brand new site for Best Gapp, an exclusive independent estate agent in Belgravia!


The site has a brand new CMS system called Foundation that can be used to update every page and our client can now promote their properties for sale and rent through it, as it reads from the feed that they were already using in-house. We built this site with Google in mind, so it’s very SEO friendly and focuses on a clean traditional look, emphasising the range of attractive properties Best Gapp are selling.

We've given the site a top level menu bar so that Best Gapp can list out the services they offer, which range from buying and selling property, leasehold enfranchisement and landlord management services. They can also display the properties they have for sale as well as amending their 'featured properties' whenever they need to.

We've been working with a lot of clients in the property industry, we've been blogging for them too - do you have a secret property obsession like so many of us these days?

Don't ever let it be said that here at Mission Imblogable we don't give you what you want. Two of our most popular posts ever have been about online jokes and social media jokes. Creepy Facebook Guy

Ahh, so true. How is it that we end up browsing particular friends' pages, delving into the forgotten realms of their status updates from five years ago? We have no idea, but we definitely do it. We're not trying to be creepy. We just love reminiscing about that time we all dressed up as pirates back in '07, and Liking wasn't a thing then. So it only makes sense that we Like it now, right? ... Right?

Social Media Explained

If you're ever unsure of what you should be using each social network for, please refer to this handy guide. And possibly stock up on donuts. Twitter's for hashtags, Facebook's for liking, Instagram's for applying vintage filters to photos of food, LinkedIn's for marketing your skills... true enough. We'd like to add that MySpace is for... um. Actually, we have no idea. We're pretty something's happening over there, though.

Twitter's Down

Uh oh! The world falls into crisis when Twitter goes down. Because where else do we find out who thought what of the MasterChef quarter finals this week? Twitter is a crucial information network and, damn it, we need to know what you had for breakfast! We need to delay the day that we need to start communicating face-to-face again for as long as possible. Because we really don't want to have to put on pants any time soon.

Vintage Social Networking

Hey! Remember what life was like before social media? No, nor do we. Apparently there were things like address books, telephones, rolodexes and post-it notes. Oh, and little wooden sticks with pointy ends that made marks on paper. We can't think why anyone would need such peculiar items. Now, where did I put my iPhone? I hope I didn't leave it in a cab again, because I'd be lost without it.

Instagram Emergency

We don't get why so many people are against photos of food on Instragram. Everyone knows there's only one good use for food -- if you can't take a picture of it, what's the point in having it? Who needs nutrition anyway? Certainly not the hipsters of the world.

Facebook Procrastination

Hmm, how much more work would get done in the Mission Imblogable office if it weren't for Facebook...? I guess we'll never know, because such a question can only ever be purely hypothetical.
